Buffalo Bike Tours - Indiegogo Campaign - Update #3
As we enter the last few days of our Indiegogo campaign, we realize we have a long way to go. We’ve made some good progress but we’re still quite a way off. Regardless of how much we raise, we’ll still be hitting the ground running starting May 1st. We just won’t have as much to spend on marketing – which is unfortunate – but not the end of the world. We will have to rely almost entirely on word of mouth, and we’ll need your help in doing so. Until then, even if we don’t hit our goal, it is flexible funding, so literally every bit helps!
The first bike in our fleet is back from GObike and the results are phenomenal. Just check that bike out! There’s still some last details to finish up, but these will definitely make a splash this spring as they hit the streets. Look for them soon…
This past week, owner Marc Moscato appeared on Spectrum News to preview this year’s tours. It was a little odd to ride a bike with a news crew in tow following in a car but we’re grateful and the spot came out nice. View it here!
In light of having just a few days left in our fundraising, we thought we’d highlight some of newly added perks.
Pop-Up Thai Meal w/ K. Baramee - $40/ person
Sunday, May 16 - 6PM
A 4-course meal featuring regional dishes you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere in Buffalo:
Cheung Fan (steamed rice noodle crepes)
Thai Seasonal Salad (heart of palm, mixed greens, Thai seasoning)
Ho mok Pla (steam cooked curry w/ thick coconut cream)
Kanom Thua Paep (sweet, salty Thai dessert)
BYOB (cocktail provided - shhh!)
Originally from Uthai Thani, Kae Baramee has cooked at MK Restaurants and Yayoi in Bangkok, in addition to restaurants in Portland and Buffalo.
Naming Rights To A Bike - $100
Leave a legacy and name one of our fleet of 8 bikes! We'll make a sticker with any name on it – or choose someone from Buffalo history. Think how cool it would be to take on a tour on "Mary Talbert", "Mark Twain", or "Teddy Roosevelt"! Leave your mark as your name will appear permanently affixed to the bike frame.
Special One-Off Tour with Chris Hawley - $25
Join local history buff Chris Hawley on a special bike tour of the East Side's great brewing landmarks of yesteryear: Iroquois, Simon Pure, Phoenix, and Schreiber. The tour will conclude at a current brewery for drinks and conversation (note: date of tour TBD with tour participants).
Bar Tour w/ Seamus Gallivan - $25
Slow Roll Founder Seamus Gallivan will lead a group of up to 20 people on a special one-time guided ride past neighborhood dives with three stops chosen on the fly (note: date of tour TBD with tour participants, drinks not included). Plus, get a special invite to Buffalo Bike Tours May'den Voyage community celebration on May 1st.
There’s loads of other incentives including early bird tickets, T-Shirts, pins, stickers, and more. Head on over to the campaign page while you can!
Please don't forget to mark your calendars to our May'den Voyage Bike Parade event, May 1st @ GObike Community Workshop (98 Colvin). The gathering will mark the first time we debut our new fleet of bikes, and will include a short program with historian Chris Hawley, a performance by the Buffalo Ukulele Group, and a bike parade that is free and open to everyone. More info here.
Please, please, please continue sharing the good word with your networks – we can't do this without you. Thank you again!
